Dear Friends,
A defining quality of The Fletcher School’s faculty, students, and alumni is the ability to tackle complex global challenges with determination and enthusiasm. This past year, our goals were ambitious: to elevate Fletcher’s standing in international affairs, highlight its current impact and future direction, honor its storied past, strengthen alumni engagement, and mobilize resources. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together, and I’m honored to share how your support has advanced these efforts.
One of the highlights for me as dean ad interim was traveling to meet many of you and celebrate Fletcher’s 90th anniversary. These events reaffirmed the unique strength and vibrancy of our global community. Together, we are driving Fletcher toward an even brighter future, and your support is central to all our achievements.
Thanks to your generous contributions, we are able to:
Reflecting on these successes fills me with immense pride and gratitude, and I am excited to continue charting our path forward. Thank you for your steadfast commitment to Fletcher and for the inspiration you provide.
Warm regards,
Kelly Sims Gallagher, F00, FG03
Dean
Your gifts to The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy shape everything that we do at the school. Your support empowers students to take on new challenges inside and outside of the classroom and to expand their educational and professional aspirations. Your contributions give life to a faculty member’s new research project and innovative approaches to teaching.
Our students continue to take their place on the world’s stage—convening peers and engaging in dialogue that fosters mutual learning and growth. They display their intellect and demonstrate their leadership on many fronts, and a few highlights from this past year are featured here.

Our distinguished faculty members exemplify unparalleled dedication and expertise, consistently making a mark through their prolific media engagements, impactful contributions to their fields, and dedication that they bring to their students. Made possible through your support, their achievements are a testament to the excellence that defines our institution. We are proud to highlight just a few of their accomplishments.
Chidi Odinkalu played a pivotal role in securing adoption of a new treaty on nationality rights within the African Union after 15 years of dedicated advocacy.
Our fiscal year 2024 philanthropic goals were ambitious, but the needs and our aims remain significant. Whether you gave on Giving Tuesday, during your reunion, for a special fundraising initiative, or have made a provision for Fletcher in your estate plans, each of your gifts play a role in Fletcher’s vibrancy. Your contributions are supporting more than 200 students who walk through the Hall of Flags each year and the nearly 30 faculty members who inspire and guide these students through challenging discourse and understanding.
Your commitments underpin the foundation of all that we do, from sustaining our core operations to capitalizing on promising opportunities and partnerships. We couldn’t do it without you.
Fletcher’s overall fundraising target was $10 million, and comprised $1.45 million for the Annual Fund and $8.55 million in Capital Gifts, which includes endowed gifts, planned gifts, and support from corporate and foundation partners.
We are grateful for your generous participation and contributions this past year (July 1, 2023–June 30, 2024). Thanks to your support, we met our Annual Fund goals and exceeded our Capital Gifts goal. These commitments ensure that we can move forward with strength and confidence.
We were excited to launch the 2023–2024 academic year by celebrating Alexia Latortue, F97, Assistant Secretary of International Trade and Development for the United States Department of the Treasury, as our Convocation speaker and Class of 1947 Award recipient. The launch of the academic year kicked off a series of celebrations to mark The Fletcher School’s 90th anniversary and more. These events not only featured the rigor and significance of our academic disciplines, but also provided valuable opportunities for fundraising, admissions recruiting, and creating new partnerships.
Across 14 events spanning nine countries, more than 1,450 alumni, donors, friends, students, and faculty joined our gatherings to mark Fletcher’s leadership in international relations for 90 years. And, we proudly celebrated Fletcher Day.
